Who I Am: Niko B From Newport Pagnell
I'm Niko B, a rapper and YouTuber from Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire. If you've landed here from one of the songs, hello. If you've landed here because of the dogs, also hello. This is where my merch lives.
Where am I from?
I grew up on the Suburban Poets Estate in Newport Pagnell. It's a small town, and small-town British life is what my songs are about: the newsagent, the bins, the coats, the people.
Where does the name come from?
The name is a nod to Niko Bellic, the main character of Grand Theft Auto IV.
How did the music start?
My first single was "Mary Berry" in 2020, about small-town British life. Then "Who's That What's That" came out on 21 May 2020. It reached No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart and went Gold with the BPI.
What does it sound like?
British hip hop, UK underground rap, comedy hip hop, alternative hip hop. I cover a lot of styles, and nothing is off limits. People have compared me to Mike Skinner of The Streets.
What's in the shop?
The designs are the same things my music is full of:
- The dogs: a black dog in an oval badge, a green dog with its bowl, a running dog on the Niko B Music logo.
- The face: a line drawing of a big face in a bucket hat.
- The album: Dog Eat Dog Food World, as a cartoon scene and as a plain wordmark.
Every design comes on tees, long sleeves, crewnecks and hoodies, in black and white, with kids' and youth sizes too.
